Denia Castle and Archaeological Museum The Archaeological Museum of Denia is situated in two rooms known as "The Palace of the Governor". Both are remains of a palace located at top of the castle looking over the town and port of Denia. It was built in the XVII century and its architecture is Renaissance. The museum was establised in 1957 and then took shape between 1984 and 1987. The museum shows the development of the city from its origins in the 2nd century BC up the the XVIII century. It shows a selection of archaelogical materials with most of the content from 5 years of excavation. You can then explore the grounds and see where artifacts were excavated.
