Garda is a small town on the east shore of Lake Garda and is one of the smallest (but most beautiful) towns in the region of Veneto. It is a picture-perfect town, that boasts a stunning bay which is surrounded by the green mountainous territory of Lake Garda. It’s promenade is known as one of the best on the entire lake, and tourist’s love spending an evening here.
There is no better way to see Lake Garda than on a boat, so why not cruise the lake in style on the Siora Bianca Lake Garda tour, a beautiful antique ship where guests can enjoy some food and even a glass of wine! If you’d like to cool down, pay a visit to the beautiful Parco san Vigilo, a stunning olive tree park that has a lake-side pool for visitors to enjoy.
Garda is certainly a destination that both couples and families will enjoy. There is so much to do around the area, making it a perfect location whether you’re a family who needs to keep the kids busy, or a couple who just want to relax in the sun!
The closest airport to Garda is Verona airport. Flights from Dublin to Verona operate 4 days a week during the summer, with the flight time being an estimated 2 hours and 40 minutes. Your holiday can begin once you travel from Verona airport to Garda, this takes an estimated 45 minutes.
There are several bars in Garda to enjoy a drink in the evening. If partying is more your style, we would recommend visiting nearby Bardolino, the nightlife centre of Lake Garda where many nightclubs open to the early hours of the morning during the summer season.
There are many restaurants in Garda that serve the finest authentic Italian cuisine. The towns seafood dishes are also enjoyed by both the locals and tourists.
A great day out for the entire family is a visit to Gardaland theme park. This fantastic park is home to many rollercoasters and attractions that can suit all ages. Even the adults will enjoy spending a day here.
Relax on the beautiful Al Corno beach. This long pebble beach is the perfect place to sunbathe or take a dip in the lake.
There are several stores in Garda selling various authentic Italian goods. If you’re looking to do some designer shopping, we would recommend taking a day trip to nearby Verona, which has an excellent range of high street and designer stores.
The Lake Garda festival takes place annually in July and August and during this time there are numerous events, performances and festivities taking place in Garda and the rest of the town’s that surround the lake.
The best time to visit Lake Garda is during the summer months. Alongside the good weather in the region during this time (averaging in the high twenties), there are numerous event’s that take place in Garda and the surrounding area, making it a fantastic time to visit.
