Things to do in Dubai in 2023

Dubai has it all. Whether it’s marvelling at the record-breaking attractions and iconic landmarks, treating the family to non-stop thrills at theme parks and waterparks, spending a day of fun in the desert or simply unwinding on the beach, there’s always something to discover in this amazing city. It’s no wonder it’s been named Tripadvisor’s top destination in the world for 2022.
The Burj Khalifa is a must-see and is one of Dubai’s top attractions. This is the world’s tallest building at 828m high and offers unmatched views of Dubai from two observation decks – the two-storey At the Top on the 124th and 125th floors and another observation deck on the 148th floor.
Other recent additions to Dubai’s ever-expanding list of sights and attractions include Ain Dubai, the world’s largest observation wheel with 360-degree views of the Dubai skyline (opened October 2021) and The Museum of the Future which explores next generation science, technology and innovation which opened in February 2022.
Dubai has lots of options for kids of all ages including many thrilling theme parks and waterparks. These include Dubai Parks and Resorts which has three separate theme parks and a waterpark; Aquaventure, Dubai’s biggest waterpark and Legoland Dubai which has 40 Lego-themed rides and shows and is a great family adventure for kids aged two to 12 years old.
The Green Planet, Dubai’s indoor rain forest, is suitable for kids of all ages. A desert safari is an exciting activity for families. Kids can get up close to the camels and they can enjoy sand surfing as well. Dubai’s famous malls offer indoor experiences for kids as well including Mall of the Emirates with its Ski Dubai and the Dubai Mall which offers ice skating, go-carting, Kidzania, the Dubai Aquarium and much more.
Dubai is one of the best places in the world for retail therapy. From high-end shopping malls to artisan markets, shopping precincts and traditional souks, you’re sure to find everything you want and more on a trip to Dubai. With seasonal sales events like Dubai Summer Surprises (1 July to 4 September) and others, it’s always a good time to go shopping in Dubai.
Dubai’s malls are synonymous with the city and the Dubai Mall is the most famous of all. With 1,200 retail stores, hundreds of dining options and a plethora of family-friendly activities, the Dubai Mall in a shopper’s paradise.
Dubai’s smaller shopping districts are also well worth a visit and include City Walk and The Beach at JBR and the traditional souks of Dubai Creek are a must-visit. Here you’ll find gold, perfumes, spices, textiles and lots more.

Dubai Autodrome is another popular attraction for intrepid visitors. The arena accommodates all types of local and world-class motorsports events and you can hit the track in an Audi TT, Audi R8 V10 or a rally car.
