During my stay in Gran Canaria, I chose the Riu Palace Oasis hotel, conveniently located just a minute's walk from the Faro de Maspalomas lighthouse and 6 km from the Aqualand waterpark. The hotel, which underwent a complete refurbishment in the summer of 2018, boasts a prime spot on Playa de Maspalomas with private beach access and is surrounded by 65,000 sq.m. of lush gardens.

What I Loved

I thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant weather and delectable cuisine in Gran Canaria. The cost of living is quite reasonable, and the area exudes a delightful, relaxed ambiance during the day, making it a perfect destination for a laid-back and enjoyable holiday.

Activities & Places to See

• ​Exploring the iconic lighthouse, strolling through the picturesque Dunas, and embarking on a charming 2 km walk enriched with camel rides, craft stalls, and a convenient bus terminal for tours provided delightful experiences. Additionally, the 3 km walk to Playa del Ingles through the dunes allowed us to discover charming cafes in the area.

Beaches

Gran Canaria boasts a diverse range of beaches catering to various preferences. Whether you're seeking lively atmospheres or serene retreats. Three notable ones would be Pkaya de Las Canteras, Maspalomas Beach, and Playa de Amadores.

Bars & Restaurants

We opted for a half-board stay at the hotel, and the dining experience surpassed our expectations with excellent food. For lunch and snacks, we explored the nearby restaurants within easy walking distance from our hotel, discovering delightful options that were not only very nice but also reasonably priced.
