Joanna's Trip to Cala D'Or

Joannas Trip To Cala Dor Macro

I visited Cala Dor in July for 10 nights with family. Although it was not my first visit to Majorca, it was my first to Cala Dor. Holidays to Cala Dor combine traditional Spanish culture with a truly international grandeur. We really enjoyed our time here, and will be visiting again.

Location

Majorca is the largest Island in the Balearics and Cala Dor is situated on the South East of the Island. It is a stylish resort packed with classy bars, gourmet restaurants, and swanky shops. It also has the most beautiful marina lined with restaurants and glitzy yachts. There are cobbled streets and quiet buildings dotted though the town. It also boasts some of the best beaches on the Island which are secluded coves around the resort. It is an ideal destination for families. We flew directly from Dublin to Palma with Ryanair, and it took us about 50 minutes to get to our accommodation from the airport.

What I Loved

I loved the hotel we stayed at called the Prinsotel Alba. It is very family centered with entertainment and activities provided for children aged 4 + years. The have a kids club operating from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm daily. The have kids discos each night with family shows. The pool area is big and very safe for children. They provide really nice food and drinks in the bar and restaurant and they have a food truck located near the pool area which is very handy for poolside lunches. It's also across the road from the famous Cala Gran beach and about a 5 minute walk from all the bars and restaurants.

Activities & Places to See

  • Stroll around the Cala D'Or marina and admire the boats that have docked there.
  • Enjoy a relaxing day under the sun at Cala Gran or Esmeralda Beach.
  • Explore Palma city & all that it has to offer.

Beaches

Cala D'Or is known for its picturesque coves and beautiful beaches. Some of the most notable beaches in and around the area include Cala Gran, Cala Serena & Cala Esmeralda.

Bars & Restaurants

There are plenty of bars & restaurants all over Cala D'Or offering cuisines of every type. Whether you want to try some authentic Spanish cuisine or you want something a little more familiar, there's something to cater to your tastesl. Some of our favourite places to eat & drink included Port Petit, Can Trompe, Waves Bar & Mollys Irish Bistro.
