Gillians Trip To Tenerife


This year my family and I travelled to Tenerife and spent 10 days enjoying a lovely holiday. We flew directly with Aer Lingus from Dublin to Tenerife and from the airport we took a transfer to Costa Adeje (Tenerife South) which took about 20 minutes.

Location

Costa Adeje is one of the quieter resorts in Tenerife. The majority of hotels here are 5* and there are plenty of family friendly attractions. We stayed in the 5* GF Gran Hotel on an All Inclusive basis. This hotel was in the perfect location as we were only a 10-minute walk from the beaches Playa Del Duque and Playa de Fanabe. This hotel boasts a solarium, tropical garden, swimming pool, spa, excellent entertainment for kids & adults and restaurants with international cuisine as well as Canarian gastronomy.

What I Loved

I loved Siam Water Park! This park has been awarded the ‘Best Water Park in the World’ by TripAdvisor several years in a row and deservedly so. My family and I dove headfirst into the fun and had an incredible day out.

Activities & Places to See

  • Spend a day unwinding on the beach. We loved the nearby Playa de Fañabé and Playa del Duque.
  • Become one with nature as you take a tour of Parque Nacional del Teide. This park is home to the highest peak in Spain, so the views are amazing! There is also a lot of plant and wildlife to be admired.

Shopping

Shopping was one of my favourite things to do on this holiday as Tenerife is a duty-free island, so prices are very competitive. Visit Centro Commercial Plaza del Duque, a modern commercial centre with many shops and goods bars. Siam Mall is also popular with tourists, this is an open-air centre which is home to many well know retailers.

Food & Bars

We ate all our meals on site, and everything was delicious! I would certainly recommend going all inclusive in the GF Gran Hotel. I particularly enjoyed the seafood at the hotels “La Finca” buffet, it was mouth-watering!

Beaches

Costa Adeje has many beaches where you can relax and sunbathe. The most popular are Playa del Duque, Play de Fanabe and Playa Blanca. We spent some time on Playa del Duque & Play de Fanabe and could not fault them.
