Gillian's Trip to Dubai

I was extremely lucky to be part of a group of eight travel agents who got to spend 2 nights in Dubai as part of a Fam Trip. It gave us the chance to experience the best the city has to offer in a short space of time, from luxurious hotel stays and fine dining to thrilling desert adventures and world-class shopping.

Location

We departed from Dublin on Saturday night, flying with Emirates, and arrived in Dubai on Sunday morning. Upon arrival, we checked into the Fairmont City Centre Hotel, a prime location for exploring the city. The hotel’s central setting provided easy access to many of Dubai’s iconic attractions, and its luxurious amenities offered a perfect place to unwind after a long journey. During our stay we experienced wonderful hospitality and a wide range of amenities.

What I Loved

What I loved most about this whirlwind trip was the perfectly curated itinerary, which struck an ideal balance between relaxation, exploration, and cultural immersion. From peaceful moments by the pool to thrilling desert adventures and visits to iconic landmarks, every experience felt thoughtfully planned and extremely enjoyable. The warm, sunny weather added to the charm, with clear blue skies making every outdoor activity even more memorable. Overall, it was a fantastic introduction to Dubai, giving us invaluable firsthand insight into the city’s diverse offerings and making it easier to recommend personalised itineraries to future travellers.

From browsing high-end fashion in the vast Dubai Mall to discovering unique treasures in the bustling souks, shopping here is truly world-class. As night falls, the city comes alive with rooftop lounges, beach clubs, and fine dining experiences offering stunning views. Rich cultural moments are never far away either, with traditional performances, art galleries, and historic districts revealing the city’s vibrant heritage and contemporary spirit.
