Danielle's Trip to Abu Dhabi
By Danielle Simpson
I recently visited Abu Dhabi on a family holiday. We travelled direct with Etihad Airlines, with a flight time of approximately 7hours 45 minutes. Travelling with Ethihad Airlines was a pleasant experience and was a good start to our trip to Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi is a modern, cosmopolitan high-rise capital located in the United Arab Emirates. It is full of luxury hotels, many of which are 4 or 5 star rated. I stayed on Corniche Road near the Presidential Palace at St Regis Hotel. The transfer from Abu Dhabi airport to Corniche took roughly 30 minutes however this can take a little bit longer during rush hour.
What I Loved
I really loved the hotel that we stayed at. I felt like royalty thanks to the range of amazing facilities on offer, which included a private beach club and a personal butler for every room.
Activities & Places to See
- Yas Island has a lot to offer from theme parks, malls, Formula One and plenty of bars and restaurants.
- The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a great tourist attraction where you can learn about the local art and culture.
- There are lots of beautiful beaches which provide the perfect place to enjoy Abu Dhabi's weather.
- Formula One fans will love a day out at Ferrari World.
There are lots of high-end designer stores around Abu Dhabi aswell as plenty of shopping malls.
Food & Bars
There are lots of dining options available in the restaurants and bars in the hotels along Corniche Road and in the malls. A lot of the restaurants are fine dining establishments, but there are also lots of reasonably priced American food chains which are readily available. Drinks can be expensive, but a lot of bars have happy hour deals in the evening.
There are gorgeous beaches throughout Abu Dhabi, however we did not visit them due to there being a private beach club at the St Regis Hotel where we stayed.
