Colman Trip To Majorca Stock

My family and I just returned from a wonderful week in Palma in Majorca, staying at the HM Jaime III hotel. We had a great time exploring the city, relaxing on the beach, and enjoyed lots of different activities.

Location

Majorca, the largest island in the Balearic archipelago, is a Mediterranean paradise renowned for its stunning landscapes and diverse geography. Nestled in the western part of the Mediterranean Sea, off the eastern coast of Spain, Majorca boasts a captivating blend of coastal beauty and inland charm. We stayed at the HM Jaime III Hotel, a very comfortable & stylish property with spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi, and a delicious breakfast buffet. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for walking to the main attractions, shops, and restaurants. We especially liked the modern art and the library in the lobby.

What I Loved

We loved visiting the city of Palma as it’s a beautiful city with a rich history and culture. We visited the impressive Palma Cathedral, which has a stunning Gothic facade and a modern interior designed by Gaudi. We also toured the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, which was once an Islamic fort and later a residence for the Mallorcan monarchs. We admired the artworks and sculptures at the Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and the collections of books, maps, and musical instruments at the Palau March Museum. This made for a great activity for the whole family.

Activities & Places to See

  • We spent a day at the Aqualand El Arenal water park, which was a blast for the kids and the adults. There were slides, pools, and attractions for all ages and preferences, from the adrenaline-pumping Kamikaze and Tornado to the relaxing Congo River and Jacuzzi.
  • We took a day boat trip to the nearby island of Cabrera, which is a national park and a marine reserve. We saw the stunning scenery of the island, the lighthouse, and the castle, and we snorkelled in the crystal-clear water, where we spotted colourful fish and coral. We also visited the museum and learned about the history and nature of the island.
  • Spend some time enjoying some of the beautiful beaches in the area.

Beaches

We really loved Playa de Palma, a long and sandy stretch of land with clear water and plenty of facilities, as it was located a short bus ride from our hotel. Here, you can sunbathe & do various water sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding & jet skiing.

Bars & Restaurants

One of the best things about visiting Palma Majorca is the variety and quality of the restaurants. Whether you are looking for fresh seafood, authentic tapas, or creative cuisine, you will find something to suit your taste and budget. And what better way to enjoy the Mediterranean climate than eating al fresco on a lovely terrace? The kids just wanted pizza and fast food so we compromised and ate cheaply for 3 nights, and the ate at some nicer restaurants in Palma that offer outdoor seating or terraces, and that serve delicious Spanish food.
