Ashleigh's Trip to Lanzarote
By Ashleigh Mcmanus
I spent 7 nights in the resort of Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote, where there are gorgeous golden beaches, loads of bars & restaurants and plenty of activities like boat trips & excursions to take part in. I had an amazing time!
Puerto del Carmen is a popular resort town situated on the southeastern coast of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. It's an incredibly popular tourist destination thanks to its good weather & abundance of things to see & do. We flew from Dublin to Lanzarote with Aer Lingus. It only took about 15 minutes in a taxi to get from the airport into the centre of the resort.
What I Loved
This place is a sun-soaked paradise! I absolutely loved lounging on the beach, soaking up the vibes & completely relaxing. The promenade along the beach was buzzing with cool shops, places to eat, and lively bars too, so when I was done sunbathing I didn't have far to go for some food & drinks.
Activities & Places to See
- Visit Timanfaya National Park and admire the volcanic landscapes.
- Take a boat tour and admire the views. We took a boat tour to Fuerteventura & it was amazing!
- Spend a fun-silled day at Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, a theme park featuring a zoo, water park, and entertaining shows.
Puerto del Carmen is blessed with stunning beaches, each offering its own unique charm and appeal. From relaxation, water activities, and scenic beauty, there's something for everyone.
There are lots of shopping opportunities available around Puerto del Carmen, with a huge shopping centre that has popular shops including Zara, Bershka & more.
Bars & Restaurants
Puerto del Carmen boasts a vibrant culinary scene with a plethora of bars and restaurants catering to diverse tastes. Some of my favourites included Cafe La Ola & Lani's Cafe Restaurant.
