WELCOME TO TOBAGO

Tobago is one half of the island nation Trinidad and Tobago located at the most southerly point of the Caribbean. It is considered to be the last unspoilt haven in the Caribbean, encapsulating all that a tropical paradise could be.

White sandy beaches dip into warm turquoise waters with sparkling coral reefs and lofty palm trees abound. Thriving rain forests and lush inlands are home to an expansive wildlife including an array of exotic birds, butterflies, flowering plants and shrubs. One hundred different mammals and seventy types of reptiles also inhabit the island with the famous giant leatherback turtle often spotted nesting on the beaches.

Beautiful beaches slope into the warm, clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, which are ideal for water sports. Scuba divers love the vibrant underwater landscape and get acquainted with the friendly manta ray below. Visibility can vary from 30 feet to 100 feet depending on the season.

There are plenty of activities to suit all including sailing, snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing, bird watching, fishing, hiking, golf, tennis and horse riding. Alternatively, there is always the option of relaxing on the beach and soaking up the sun.

There are many restaurants to choose from on the island to cater for all tastes. The local cuisine includes curried crab and dumplings, pelau, and roti if you’re feeling adventurous. However, there is also plenty of familiar food on the menus from lobster, fish and chicken to the usual fast food.

The nightlife is friendly and laidback with many of the bars, restaurants and hotels offering different forms of evening entertainment. Local entertainers perform steel band music and there is live music and calypso dancing.

Roaring waterfalls are the only distraction from the peaceful, serene ambiance of this charming island. The warmth of the people makes it a wonderful atmosphere in which to unwind. Couples and honeymooners will love this tranquil slice of paradise, as there is the option to be as active or inactive as desired.
