Staff Tips for Disneyland Paris

A trip to Disneyland Paris is truly a magical experience! I recently holidayed here for 2 nights, 3 days, and I can’t recommend it enough. I stayed in Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel and got the full Disney experience. Air France is a great travel choice, they even offer complimentary tea, coffee, water and a small snack such as a muffin.

Location

Disneyland Paris is located around 1 hour outside of Paris, in Marne-la-Vallée. We took a private transfer form Charles de Gaulle airport to Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel and it took 40 minutes. Disneyland Paris has two parks; Disneyland Park & Walt Disney Studios, they’re located right next to each other and it is easy to walk between them. All Disney hotels are also within walking distance of both parks and there are free return shuttle buses from the hotels.

What I Loved

My favourite part of the holiday was the Illuminations night time show at the castle in Disneyland Park. It’s honestly a magical experience that I would highly recommend for everyone. The sparkly lights, music and fireworks will totally captivate you. This show is on 7 nights a week and is free viewing for anyone who has a park ticket.

Activities & Places to See

The Stars on Parade can’t be missed! It’s on daily at 5pm, and features all of Disney’s well-known characters from Aladdin to Mickey Mouse himself. For me, the dragon from Maleficent is the coolest feature of the parade.

A must-do ride in Disneyland Park, is The Pirates of the Caribbean. It’s a boat ride through the Caribbean with scruffy pirates creating mayhem throughout. This ride is considered one of Disney’s greatest attractions.

Shopping

There are tonnes of souvenir shops with Disney merchandise in the parks, hotels and Disney Village. But real shopping can be done at Val d’Europe, a 5 - 10-minute taxi away from the Disney Village. This shopping centre has over 150 shops, including Lush, Pandora, Apple and many more.

Food & Bars

We dined with Mickey and friends at Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show in Disney Village. It is a Dinner show with a wild west theme. The show feature shootouts and stunts with horses and characters. It’s a lot of fun!

We also went to Jack Sparrow’s Restaurant in Disneyland Park which has great set menu deals. The Inventions Restaurant offers character breakfast and buffet lunch, the food here exceeded expectations for a buffet and had great variety. However, we did find it quite expensive to eat out, so I would recommend adding on the half board meal plans for families.

Disneyland isn’t just for kids, I plan to continue visiting for years to come. With rollercoasters, character meet and greets, parades and shows, the fun is endless! I would advise wearing comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking involved. I also recommend downloading the free Disneyland Paris app which is great for planning the day ahead. It shows wait times for rides and parade times. Finally, make sure to use the free FastPass service. Just scan the park ticket where it’s available and a pass will be issued with a return time, so guests can experience fun elsewhere while waiting. Afterall, you don’t want to miss a minute of magic on a Disneyland Paris holiday!
