Aoife's Trip to Tenerife

Myself, my husband, our two children ages 4 and 2 and my parents went on a family holiday to Tenerife for a week in October. We had such a great holiday. We flew direct from Dublin with Aer Lingus to Tenerife South. The hotel we stayed in was only a 15-minute taxi from the Airport.
Location
We stayed in the GF Isabel on a half board basis. The food was amazing – I could not fault it. There was a huge selection on offer and it was replenished regularly. There was a very affordable snack bar by the pool too. Overall the hotel was fantastic; the staff, the facilities, the food and the entertainment were all great. It was the perfect location for young families.

What I Loved
Siam Park is a water park and is listed as one of the best in the world. We got sun loungers by the wave pool which looks like a real beach. The kids stayed with their grandparents playing with the sand while mammy & daddy went off to try out the thrill-seeking waterslides. We were not disappointed! The Volcano, the Snake, the Dragon and the crazy Vertical Drop - which I chickened out of - were amazing but certainly not for the feint-hearted!

Activities & Places to See
- Take in the views with a walk along the seafront.
- Visit Loro Parque, a small zoo that has dolphin and orca shows.
- Visit Siam Park for a fun day out for the whole family.

Shopping
There were lots of high-end shops in the Duque Plaza right by our hotel, which were out of my price range! There are lots of more touristy shops along the seafront – I’m not a big shopper but I’m sure there was something for everyone. Everything in Tenerife is very affordable.

Food & Bars
We stuck with the nightlife that was on offer at our hotel. The mini disco every night at 8pm was a hit with our kids and every night there was something different from acrobats to cabaret.
