A trip to Venice is perfect for families and couples looking for an interesting city break. Usually visited by tourists for between 1-3 days, we would recommend combining It with a holiday in a nearby resort to make the most of your trip.

Flights from Dublin to Venice operate up to four days a week during the summer months, with the estimated flight time being two hours and forty minutes. From Treviso airport the distance to Venice city center is forty minutes or from Marco Polo airport it is a twenty-five-minute journey to the city center.

Venice has a traditional Italian nightlife with many bars and restaurants open every night until midnight. For a night out where you can party all night long, we recommend visiting the nearby town of Jesolo.

Venice has hundreds of restaurants serving authentic Italian cuisine. There are also plenty of fast food outlets in the town if you’re just looking for a cheap quick means to keep the energy levels high!

Young kids and teenagers alike will love a visit to Aqualandia in Jesolo.

Shopping  

Venice has many luxury designer stores near St. Mark’s Square where you can buy some high-priced fashion. If designer brands aren’t your style, there are also many high street stores and souvenir shops dotted around the city.

Carnival

Carnival is a popular festival in Venice, held annually around forty days before Easter (usually in February or March). During this festival you will see plenty of people in Renaissance style masks and costumes, parades and overall celebrations of traditional Venetian culture.

As Venice is a small town which is visited by millions, it can get quite busy during certain periods of the year. To avoid over-crowding, we recommend avoiding Venice during the summer months. For an optimal experience, visit Venice in the spring or Autumn.
